The Detailed Plans of São Lourenço dos Órgãos aim to create conditions for young people to remain in the Municipality, preventing their migration to larger towns. These plans covered three localities: João Teves, Chã de Vaca, and Pedra Amolar. Thus, the creation of public spaces and educational infrastructure was the starting point.
With the collaboration of Cape Verdean and Portuguese students, an operational base was established to identify key objectives, meeting points, and technological innovations to reduce the isolation of this territory. Through working sessions with students of various levels, the community, local technical teams, and the local government, a program was defined, taking into account the ambitions and priorities of all stakeholders. This program was then spatialized with the support of public participation sessions.
To promote the plan within the community, the support of local technical teams was crucial. Our team prepared several presentations together, using simple and clear images to convey the main intentions.
